Service Description

Our Complete Abdominal Ultrasound Screening provides an exceptionally comprehensive look at the organs and vascular system of the abdomen, combining detailed organ imaging with an evaluation of the major arteries and veins that supply the abdominal organs. Liver. We look at the size, shape, texture, and appearance of the liver, screening for fatty changes, enlargement, cysts, masses, and other visible abnormalities. Gallbladder. We evaluate the gallbladder for gallstones, sludge, wall thickening, distention, and other visible signs of gallbladder disease or inflammation. Pancreas. We look at the visible portions of the pancreas for changes in size or appearance, cysts, masses, ductal changes, and other structural abnormalities. Spleen. We evaluate the size and appearance of the spleen, screening for enlargement, cysts, masses, and other visible abnormalities. Kidneys. We examine both kidneys for stones that can be seen by ultrasound, cysts, masses, swelling of the collecting system, and other structural abnormalities. Aorta. We measure and evaluate the abdominal aorta, screening for enlargement and abdominal aortic aneurysm. Inferior Vena Cava. We look at the IVC, the major vein carrying blood back toward the heart, evaluating its appearance and visible blood flow. Mesenteric Arteries. We use Doppler ultrasound to evaluate blood flow through the major arteries supplying the digestive system, screening for evidence of narrowing or impaired blood flow. Portal Hepatic Circulation. We evaluate blood flow through the portal and hepatic vessels, looking for abnormal flow patterns and other vascular findings involving the liver. Renal Arteries & Veins. We evaluate blood flow to and from the kidneys, screening for evidence of renal artery narrowing and other visible vascular abnormalities. Together, these examinations provide both a structural and vascular look at the abdomen in one comprehensive screening. Preparation: Fasting is required for this screening. Complete Abdominal Ultrasound Screenings are performed in the morning, with appointments scheduled at 10:00 AM to help provide optimal imaging conditions.
